FAQ

Does WoW Forever have new talents?
Blizzard has announced new abilities and class changes, but the complete beta talent data should be verified directly in the current build before being treated as final.
Are WoW Forever class changes the same as modern WoW?
No. Forever is being designed around its own level-60 experience and Blizzard says recognizable class identity is a core goal.
Will this page list exact talent values?
Yes after beta verification. Pre-beta numerical claims are not published as final values.

What has Blizzard confirmed about WoW Forever talents?

Blizzard has confirmed new class abilities, class changes and new race/class combinations, but the studio has not published a complete final pre-beta talent database. The stated goal is to deepen classes while keeping their identities recognizable inside a level-60 version of Azeroth.

For the high-level philosophy, read the class changes overview. For which characters can play which classes, use the race and class combinations guide.

Will WoW Forever use modern WoW talent trees?

Blizzard’s reveal does not say that Forever simply imports modern World of Warcraft’s current talent system. Forever is its own permanent experience with a level-60 foundation, different content progression, and class design built around that world.

Until the beta client can be inspected, a screenshot or datamined tree from another WoW branch should not be treated as a Forever tree. This page will only publish trees tied to the current Forever build.

The WoW Forever beta guide explains when those directly testable builds become available.

What class details will be tracked during beta?

The first beta pass will focus on details players actually use to make character decisions:

  • talent names and prerequisite structure;
  • new or removed abilities;
  • resource mechanics;
  • cooldowns and durations;
  • role-defining utility;
  • class quests or unlock requirements;
  • major rank or level breakpoints;
  • beta build number and last-checked date.

Numerical damage, healing and coefficient values will be versioned because they are especially likely to change during testing. The Recent Updates page will surface newly revised class pages as builds move.

What does “preserve class identity” mean?

Blizzard says class changes should make classes richer without making them feel interchangeable. In practical terms, Forever is being positioned around recognizable roles, strengths, weaknesses and utility rather than giving every class the same toolkit.

That philosophy fits the wider design: the level-60 journey matters, social play matters, and the world is supposed to create situations where different classes contribute in different ways.

The exact result cannot be judged from a panel promise alone, so beta testing will matter more than pre-release theorycrafting.

Are Skyborne abilities part of this page?

Class abilities belong here, while race-specific information belongs in the Skyborne race guide. Blizzard has confirmed the Skyborne class lineup and unique Druid forms, but final racial abilities and numerical values should be checked against the live beta build before they are presented as fixed data.

Keeping class and racial information separate makes future patch updates easier to audit and prevents one changing racial value from making every class article stale.

When will builds and tier lists become useful?

Build guides become useful once talent trees, encounter requirements and major balance values are stable enough to compare. Publishing a “best build” before beta data exists would only turn speculation into search-indexed misinformation.

As verified data arrives, this page will link into class-specific builds and dungeon/raid recommendations. Until then, use the dungeon overview, raid overview, and PvP overview to understand the activities those future builds need to support.
