What is WoW Forever in one sentence?
World of Warcraft: Forever is Blizzard’s permanent level-60 branch of WoW, built to keep expanding original-era Azeroth instead of moving players through a sequence of disposable expansion continents and level caps.
It launches as a separate experience alongside modern World of Warcraft and existing Classic offerings. Blizzard’s stated goal is to preserve the importance of leveling, exploration, danger, travel, class identity and social play while adding new content to the old world.
For dates and access, see the WoW Forever beta and release schedule. For the world itself, start with the new zones overview and nine new dungeons.

Where does Forever fit in Warcraft’s story?
Blizzard places the beginning of Forever after Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom and before Molten Core. That gives the team room to revisit unfinished storylines, underused regions and unresolved threads from early Azeroth without simply replaying the original 2004 content timeline unchanged.
The starting journey still spans levels 1–60, but the world contains new quests and reimagined areas. Blizzard says there are more than 1,000 new quests across the full leveling path.
What makes Forever different from ordinary Classic?
The biggest difference is intent. Classic reproduces or cycles through historical versions of World of Warcraft. Forever is designed as a world that keeps receiving new development while retaining the original continents and level-60 foundation.
Blizzard has already confirmed several principles:
- no flying mounts;
- no level scaling;
- leveling remains a major part of the game rather than a short prelude to endgame;
- new content can appear across the whole 1–60 range;
- class changes are intended to preserve recognizable class identity;
- long-term systems such as Legacy progression and Camping support continued play without simply replacing the world.
What new content is confirmed?
The first official reveal includes a substantial amount of new material before beta data is even available.
Blizzard highlighted new or reimagined regions including Zephras Isle, Riverglades, Mount Hyjal and Shen’dralas. The game also launches with nine newly announced dungeons, while the first raid wave includes Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit. PvP gains the 15v15 Darkspear Islands battleground.
See the raid overview and Darkspear Islands guide for the confirmed structure.
Why does the wiki avoid publishing exact talents and loot yet?
Forever’s beta begins on September 17, 2026. Before that build is available, exact talent values, racial abilities, boss abilities, item tables and similar details can change or be misreported.
This wiki treats Blizzard’s published material as the launch baseline. Beta-only values will be added once they can be checked directly and will carry a last-reviewed date so a pre-launch screenshot is not mistaken for permanent truth.
