WoW Forever Price & Subscription: What Do You Need to Buy?
WoW Forever pricing explained: subscription access, Skyborne Heroic and Epic upgrades, beta access, Game Time, and the Warcraft Forever Collection.
FAQ
Do I need to buy WoW Forever separately?
Is the Skyborne race included with the normal subscription?
Which WoW Forever editions include beta access?
How much does WoW Forever cost to play?
The base World of Warcraft: Forever experience is included with an active World of Warcraft Subscription or Game Time when the game launches on November 4, 2026. Blizzard is not selling Forever as a mandatory separate expansion box for normal access.
That makes the core pricing question simpler than it first appears: if your WoW account already has active subscription time, the base Forever experience is part of that access. See the release date and launch guide for the full schedule.
What are the optional WoW Forever upgrades?
Blizzard has announced three main digital upgrade paths: the Skyborne Heroic Pack, Skyborne Epic Pack, and Warcraft Forever Collection. These are optional benefits layered on top of subscription access.
The Skyborne Heroic Pack includes access to the new Skyborne race and the Zephras Isle starting experience, Early Name Reservation, a ground mount, cosmetics, housing decor for modern WoW, and an Invite-A-Friend launch code.
The Skyborne guide explains the race itself, while the race and class combinations page covers what each faction can play.
What does the Skyborne Epic Pack add?
The Skyborne Epic Pack includes the Heroic Pack benefits plus beta access starting September 17, 30 days of World of Warcraft Game Time starting November 4, additional cosmetics, pets, tabards, and additional Invite-A-Friend launch codes.
If your goal is specifically to play before launch, use the WoW Forever beta access guide rather than buying an edition based only on its name.
What is in the Warcraft Forever Collection?
The limited-time Warcraft Forever Collection includes everything in the Skyborne Epic Pack, plus Warcraft III: Reforged and the new Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom campaign, along with Forsaken and Human figurine decor for Housing in modern WoW.
Blizzard says the Warcraft Forever Collection is available through January 11, 2027. It is designed for players who want both the WoW Forever upgrade benefits and the Warcraft III story content that leads into Forever’s timeline.
For where Forever sits in the story, read What Is WoW Forever?.
Is there a physical Collector’s Edition?
Yes. Blizzard also announced a physical World of Warcraft: Forever Collector’s Edition. It includes a Warcraft Forever Collection digital code plus physical items such as a Dwarf and Bear statue, Zephras Isle mousepad, art prints, collectible pins, and a companion journal.
Physical availability and regional pricing can change, so this wiki does not freeze a store price into an evergreen article unless the official regional storefront is being checked at the same time.
Does buying a pack replace the WoW subscription?
No. The upgrade packs do not permanently replace the subscription requirement. Blizzard states that World of Warcraft, including Forever, requires a Subscription or Game Time outside any included Game Time period.
The Epic Pack and Warcraft Forever Collection include 30 days of Game Time starting November 4, but continued access after that included period requires additional active game time.
What is the cheapest path if I only want to play Forever?
If you only want the base Forever experience at launch and do not need Skyborne access, beta access, Early Name Reservation, cosmetics, or Warcraft III content, the announced requirement is simply active WoW Subscription or Game Time.
If you want the new race or pre-launch benefits, compare the optional upgrades by feature rather than assuming the most expensive bundle is necessary. The beta access page and roadmap can help you decide whether early access matters for your plans.
