Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-09-06

This Privacy Policy explains how WoW Forever Wiki handles information when you visit this website or contact us. For privacy questions or requests, email support@wowforeverwiki.online.

Information We Handle

WoW Forever Wiki is primarily a static informational website. We do not require an account and we do not directly maintain player profiles. Depending on which optional services are enabled, the following information may be processed:

  • Basic request and security data, such as IP address, browser information, request time, and requested URL, may be processed by Cloudflare to deliver, secure, and operate the site.
  • Analytics data, such as page views, device/browser information, and approximate location, may be processed when analytics services are enabled.
  • Advertising data, including cookies or similar identifiers, may be processed by advertising providers when advertising is enabled and the required consent has been obtained.
  • Messages you send us, including your email address and the contents of your message, are processed when you contact support@wowforeverwiki.online.
  • Third-party embeds may receive technical request data when you interact with them, for example when you play an embedded YouTube video or use an enabled comment widget.

Why We Process Information

We use information only for the purposes relevant to operating this site:

  • to deliver pages, prevent abuse, maintain security, and troubleshoot technical problems;
  • to understand aggregate site usage when analytics is enabled;
  • to display and measure advertising when advertising is enabled;
  • to answer support, correction, privacy, and copyright messages;
  • to provide media or community features that you choose to interact with.

Legal Bases

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on consent for optional cookie-based analytics and advertising where required; legitimate interests for essential site delivery, security, abuse prevention, and maintaining an informational website; and steps necessary to respond to requests that you send us. The exact basis can depend on your location and the service involved.

Third-Party Services

Services that may process information include:

  • Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery, security, and optional cookieless Web Analytics.
  • Google Analytics — optional analytics. When enabled, it is loaded only after the consent flow allows it where consent is required.
  • Microsoft Clarity — optional product analytics used to understand aggregate navigation and interaction patterns, including session and device/browser information. It is configured on this site to load only after the visitor accepts optional tracking.
  • Plausible Analytics — optional privacy-oriented traffic analytics delivered through our configured analytics endpoint. It is configured on this site to load only after the visitor accepts optional tracking.
  • Google AdSense — optional advertising. When enabled, Google and participating advertising providers may process cookies, device information, IP addresses, and other identifiers in accordance with their own policies and the consent choices presented to you.
  • YouTube — video thumbnails may load from YouTube infrastructure, and the privacy-enhanced player is loaded only after you choose to play a video.
  • giscus / GitHub — if comments are enabled, the embedded service and GitHub handle comment authentication and related data under their own terms and privacy policies.

Cookies and Consent

Essential site functions may use local storage, for example to remember theme or consent choices. Optional analytics and advertising scripts, including Microsoft Clarity, Plausible, Google Analytics, or AdSense when configured, are not loaded by this site's built-in consent flow until the applicable choice permits them. If those services are enabled, you can reopen Cookie Settings from the footer and change your choice. Withdrawing a previously granted choice reloads the page so optional trackers are not loaded again.

If we enable Google advertising for users in regions where Google's certified consent platform requirements apply, we will use the required certified consent-management solution in addition to maintaining this Privacy Policy.

Retention

We do not set a single retention period for data held by independent third-party providers; their retention practices are governed by their own policies and settings. Messages sent to support@wowforeverwiki.online are kept only as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request, maintain a record of the resolution, prevent abuse, or meet applicable legal obligations.

International Processing

Some service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, those providers are responsible for using applicable transfer mechanisms and safeguards described in their privacy documentation.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and the processing involved, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise a right relating to information we control, email support@wowforeverwiki.online. We may need enough information to verify and understand the request before acting on it.

You may also have the right to complain to the data-protection authority responsible for your location. Rights and available remedies vary by jurisdiction.

Children's Privacy

This site does not require an account and does not intentionally ask children to provide personal information. If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent personal information directly to us, contact support@wowforeverwiki.online so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the site, providers, or applicable requirements change. The "Last updated" date on this page shows the latest revision.
