FAQ

What is the next major WoW Forever date?
The beta starts September 17, 2026. Launch follows on November 4, with the first new raids scheduled to unlock December 9.
Will WoW Forever get expansions?
Blizzard has described Forever as an evergreen version of Azeroth that will keep receiving updates. It has not announced a traditional expansion cadence for Forever.
Is Hardcore coming to WoW Forever?
Hardcore is included in Blizzard's future roadmap, but the announcement does not place it at launch.

What is on the WoW Forever roadmap?

WoW Forever moves quickly from beta to launch, then into a continuing content roadmap rather than a one-and-done release. The public sequence currently starts with beta on September 17, global launch on November 4, and the first new raids unlocking on December 9.

For the exact dates and access rules, use the beta and launch schedule and beta access guide.

What happens before launch?

The beta runs from September 17 through October 21, 2026 for eligible accounts. Blizzard then opens Early Name Reservation from October 27 through November 3 for players with a qualifying upgrade purchase.

That pre-launch window is important for this wiki because beta will expose the details that official announcement pages do not yet provide: exact talent values, dungeon encounter tuning, loot, racials, quest chains, profession interactions, and balance changes.

Our talents and abilities tracker will switch from pre-beta summaries to versioned beta data as those details become directly verifiable.

What launches on November 4?

World of Warcraft: Forever launches globally on November 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. Pacific time. Access to the base Forever experience is included with an active World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time.

The launch foundation includes the level 1–60 world, more than 1,000 new quests, the new Skyborne race for players who unlock it through an upgrade, new and reimagined regions, nine announced dungeons, class changes, new systems, and the Darkspear Islands battleground.

Use the new zones overview, dungeon directory, and PvP overview to explore those launch pillars.

When do the first raids unlock?

Blizzard says the first new raids unlock on December 9, 2026. The two announced opening raid experiences are Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit.

Barrow Deeps is planned as a maximum-level 10-player challenge, while Hyjal Summit is a 20-player raid. The team has also teased new tier sets and a legendary reward connected to this raid wave.

See the raid unlock schedule for a focused timeline page.

What content is planned after the first raid wave?

Blizzard’s roadmap goes beyond the launch package. The panel recap names several categories of future content:

  • more raids;
  • more dungeons;
  • PvP updates;
  • world content;
  • additional quests throughout levels 1–60;
  • Hardcore;
  • a revamped iconic raid;
  • major ongoing updates to the world.

The announcement does not yet attach dates to those later items. That means a page claiming a precise Hardcore release date or naming the revamped raid as confirmed would be speculation today.

Our Hardcore roadmap page tracks only what Blizzard has actually committed to.

Why is the roadmap important for the “Classic Plus” idea?

The roadmap is the clearest evidence that Forever is intended to be an ongoing home rather than a short seasonal experiment. Blizzard says it will keep building this world with community feedback and explicitly separates Forever from a mode or season.

That is why players often connect Forever with the long-running “Classic+” concept. Read WoW Forever Classic Plus explained for the terminology difference and the level-60 design guide for the philosophy behind horizontal growth.

How will this roadmap page stay current?

Every dated roadmap item will be updated when Blizzard publishes a new schedule, patch note, Q&A, or release announcement. Version-sensitive claims will keep a last-modified date instead of silently replacing old expectations.

The fastest way to catch site changes is the News directory and Recent Updates, while individual system, dungeon and raid pages will link back to the relevant roadmap milestone.
